Pop-up Christmas shop showcases local talent at City Arts Hockley

Hockley City Arts are selling the works of 21 up and coming local artists, craftspeople and makers for their Advent Christmas fundraiser.

The charity provides the floor to regional talents, with the aim of selling unique Christmas gifts to raise money for vulnerable and community groups.

All profits raised by the venue go directly to the partnered groups and those working within their programme.

Saturday saw the launch of the event that will continue until Wednesday 12th December.

Alma Solarte-TobĆ³n, Creative Producer for City Arts said: ā€œThis is our fourth pop-up shop event at the Hockley venue.

“We give the opportunity for talent development and work with vulnerable and community groups across Nottingham and the East Midlands.ā€

“We reach groups and we try to make art accessible to the different groups who donā€™t have the means to do so.ā€

The event also gives local artists a chance to showcase their talents.

Stella Chidzik, from Leamington Spa, said: ā€œIt’s nice to get involved and itā€™s a good chance to meet other artists and showcase your work.ā€
