What to wear this Freshers week

This week is the chance for you to bond with flatmates, meet new friends and make that all-important first impression.

The new term is beginning, and Freshers week is upon us at Nottingham Trent University. It’s an opportunity for new students to embrace their new city, as well as for returning students to relive their Freshers fun.

This is the week of countless events, nights out and amazing parties, and it can be difficult to decide what to wear and how to wear it. Weā€™ve teamed up with ISAWITFIRST to create a guide of 7 days of Freshers, with girls’ outfits for every occasion.

White Party

There are always so many different Freshers night themes to dress your best for, from Trent Army camo to the classic white party outfit.

I chose this dress because although it has serious Love Island vibes, I can picture this at a Freshers white party or even just a night out where youā€™re dressing to impress.

This dress could be easily paired with some white heels, as well as some silver accessories to compliment the subtle sequin pattern which will give your style a bit of a sparkle.

This is definitely a bold look, but if you wanted to dress it down and feel slightly more casual, a pair of white trainers would perfectly finish off this white party look.

Little Black Dress

Sometimes the classics are the best, and this outfit goes back to basics.

This black dress can be worn and styled in so many different ways, you could even wear this in the daytime with a long sleeved white shirt underneath – itā€™s so versatile.

However for a Freshers night I think itā€™s the most stunning when left on its own. It could be dressed up with some heels or with some white or coloured chunky trainers, itā€™s completely up to you. Iā€™ve chosen to wear hoop earrings and heels, and I absolutely love this classic Freshers night look.

Animal Print

Another classic, animal print is a perfect pattern to bring your outfit to life.

This leopard print skirt is extremely comfortable as itā€™s a skater skirt style. Itā€™s easy to move around in and doesnā€™t make you feel restricted in your dance moves!

I chose a silk satin bodysuit to accompany this as the light shade of pink matches the hints of pink in the leopard print pattern and brings the look together as a whole. I would recommend heels with this animal print perfection, as heels and a skirt really complement each other. A black or pink hair accessory like a headband might also add a bit extra.

Pretty in Pink

This outfit is a perfect staple to have in your wardrobe for a night out, and what better time to premiere the look than Freshers week.

The blush rose colour is beautiful, and the stretchy jersey fabric makes the dress both comfortable and easy to wear all night. Itā€™s easy to throw on when youā€™re rushing to get ready, but looks like a lot of effort has gone in to your styling choice.

Iā€™ve paired it with a pink headband and silver doorknocker earrings, but equally I think gold accessories would go well with the blush colour of this dress. It has a slight cut through the middle which is flattering and definitely feels like a party dress for a fun evening with your new Freshers friends.

All Out There

Time to show off with this simple mesh dress which is made to impress your new flatmates and friends.

This is definitely an ā€˜out thereā€™ outfit, but this look is so easy to wear and makes a statement.

You could opt for a classic black bra underneath this long-sleeved mesh material, or even a strappy vest if you feel youā€™d like to cover up slightly more.

This dress can be altered and personalised to whatever fits you best which is the real beauty of this look! Some black high heels or black trainers would look stunning with this, as well as some gold or silver hoops.

Black and White

Why be uncomfortable on Freshers week? This outfit offers both comfort and style for those of us that want a minimum effort but stunning look.

The simple white long-sleeved top is slightly cropped and is extremely flattering to wear. Iā€™ve contrasted the pure white with some black flare trousers which again are very flattering, comfortable to wear and will be low maintenance on a night out whilst still feeling and looking amazing.

I found these trousers so comfy and easy to move in thanks to the stretchy material. I chose to wear some pink chunky trainers with this to add a pop of colour, but alternatively some transparent or white heels or trainers would definitely work with this simple and classy outfit.

Bodysuit Beauty

Bodysuits are a staple for any night out wardrobe; they go with absolutely anything and everything whilst looking stunning.

This bodysuit is slightly low cut so if youā€™re not a fan of that style you could opt for a different type for this look. Black is a classic colour that suits everyone, and works perfectly with the satin leopard print flare trousers.

I have to admit these trousers are the comfiest and most flattering pair I have ever tried on. The silky material is incredible and matches so well with the simple bodysuit. This outfit is begging for some big earrings and some casual heels.
