Murder investigation launched after NTU student dies after city centre assault

A Nottingham Trent University (NTU) student has been identified as the victim of a serious assault that happened in Nottingham city centre in the early hours of Saturday 8 February.

Arjun Singh, 20, was taken to the Queen’s medical centre by emergency services but died on Sunday morning, police confirmed.

Nottinghamshire police are currently appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the attack on Long Row outside Slug and Lettuce around 3:45am.

They are particularly keen to talk to two men who fled the scene on foot following the attack.

Detective inspector Richard Monk of Nottinghamshire police said they are working hard to establish any new leads with the case.

“This was a serious assault that resulted in a young man losing his life.”

“It is really important that if anyone has any information, no matter how small it may be, they come forward immediately,” he added.

“We need to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage, including taxi-drivers who were in the area of Long Row West and Angel Row at the time, or any mobile phone footage of the incident.ā€

Anyone with information can call Nottinghamshire police on 101 and quote incident number 132.
