Nottingham Trent University has become the first University in the world to be awarded Recognised Assessment to Chartered Project Professional status.
This status, known by the acronym CHPP, acts as a professional benchmark and proof of certain industry and technical knowledge.
This honour was awarded to NTU after the university met certain technical requirements and industry standards, as well as being approved by an external body.
This award will allow students on the MSc Project Management course to achieve chartered status as part of their accelerated pathway, and help them in their future careers.
Dr. John Israilidis, course leader for the MSc Project Management course at Nottingham Trent University, said: āWe are delighted to be the first university to achieve Recognised Assessment for the ChPP standard.ā
āThis accreditation ensures a high standard of relevance and excellence for our students and presents them with a valuable tool for networking and building connections,ā he added.
āIt is great to become part of the APM community and we look forward to supporting their activities for the betterment of the profession.ā
Debbie Dore, the chief executive at the Assessment for Project Management (APM) chartership, said: āIt comes as no surprise that The Guardianās University of the Year 2019 has worked hard to achieve Recognised Assessment, becoming the first academic institution to do so.ā
The year-long MSc Project Management course is currently offered at Nottingham Trent Universityās Business School and is based at the city campus.
The course consists of extensive theoretical and practical studies allowing students to take part in real business challenges and participate in global experiences.
