Vigils to be held to tribute Arjun Singh

Nottingham’s Sikh community are to light candles in memory of Nottingham Trent University student Arjun Singh who died following a serious assault in Nottingham city centre on Sunday 19.

This vigil will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, January 22 in Long Row outside the Slug and Lettuce.

The event been organised by Sikh Youth UK, Sikh Temples in Nottingham, the Sikh community youth service and both Nottingham Trent and University of Nottingham’s Sikh societies.

In tribute of the Nottingham Trent student, NTU Rugby League, NTU Women’s Hockey and NTU Futsal have confirmed that they will be holding a minute’s silence ahead of fixtures.

Nottingham Trent University and the Students’ Union are also offering support to all students and staff affected.

The police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to please get in touch.
