Five of the best ways to celebrate a birthday during lockdown

Unfortunately for all us Aries babies our birthday’s this year will be celebrated in lockdown.

Whilst it isn’t the birthday that anyone planned and it may seem difficult to make it special as it was intended to be, it is still possible to have a great day.

So whether it is your birthday, your best friend’s or someone you live with, there are many things that you can do to make it the best day possible!

Here are some tips on how to execute some fab birthday celebrations whilst staying at home.

If someone is celebrating their birthday at your house…

The best part of living with someone whose birthday is coming up is that you have all the control and accessibility to make this year a great birthday.

On your trip to the supermarket, take time to shop the party section for some decorations, get the ingredients to make a cake, and some lovely flowers. This way you can get the house looking great for when they wake up and give them a surprise that they will love.

If it’s your bestie’s birthday…

Most delivery services are still in action, so getting a gift delivered to their home is a great way to surprise your friend. Think chocolates, balloons, and flowers – this will be a nice little gesture for the time being before you can see each other again and replan your big night out.

If you already have their gift and can get to their house, a great idea is putting the gift on their doorstep and texting them to open their door. Even though you can’t spend time with them, this is a great way to show you love them and make their day.

If it’s someone’s birthday who lives far away…

Thanks to technology, we can all stay in touch as much as possible with those that don’t live near us. So whether it is a friend’s or relative’s birthday, make sure to text, call or facetime them and wish them a happy birthday.

Also, take advantage of social media and put up some old photographs to show them that you are thinking of them. This will go a long way and really put a smile on their face!

If it’s a big birthday…

If a friend or family member is celebrating a big birthday in lockdown, try to make their day as great as possible, especially considering they probably had some big plans lined up.

To do this, go out on the decorations as much as possible and maybe arrange to have a family brunch over facetime. Everyone can still share the celebrations from their own homes and join in raising a toast.

Another great idea is to make a video message of their friends and family sending birthday wishes and send it to them on the big day. This is a great thing to keep for a lifetime and will show how much everyone loves them. They will feel really special which is what it’s all about.

If it’s your birthday…

Admittedly this is definitely not the birthday you had in mind but you can make the most it and still have a great day! It is certainly a year to remember so try and make it great for the memories.

Firstly your friends and family will want to make your day so look forward to the surprises that they have install for you.

Another good idea is to treat yourself to a lockdown birthday outfit so that you feel great even though you are staying in.

Make sure to put away all your work and enjoy your day as much as possible. Despite being stuck at home, it is your birthday after all and you deserve to have a great day without worrying about deadlines.
