The most “incroyable” looks from Netflix’s ”Emily in Paris”

Darren Starr, creator of Sex and the City returns with a new, exciting and of course fashionable series.

Emily in Paris takes place as the title suggests in the capital of France, but the main character is as American as Carrie Bradshaw herself.

We decided to run down our Top 10 looks from the series.

10 – Optimistic Emily celebrated her first day in Paris with an Eiffel Tower shirt, matching it with a green mini skirt. The whole set is young, lively and shows the main character’s unpretentious approach to fashion, which is very different from the Parisian view.  Creativity in this outfit manifests itself in various ways its worn – Emily in the photo has her shirt open with her top underneath, but in other shots she can be seen buttoned up, tucked inside and revealing the landscape of Paris.

9 – Two completely different women with a different style, who are separated by a generation but share a love for fashion.  I chose this photo because both women show their own style here but in a similar color palette and pattern.  Sylvie (left) wears a lovely long coat with a button at the top which makes the overall outfit very chic, especially with a matching mini black purse.  Emily, on the other hand, looks youthful, a bit candy-like and very American. Her Parisian accessory is a checkered beret, which in the photo fits beautifully with Sylvie’s coat.

8 – Despite the sleepless night and masses of champagne, Emily somehow still looks stylish. This outfit is very Parisienne this time; a beautiful, short jacket fits perfectly with jeans and a white shirt up to the neck. I’m guessing the shirt selection was to cover the hickey around the neck but still Emily Cooper came out of the awkward situation in a trés chic manner (at least as far as the outfit is concerned).

7 – The first meeting of Emily and Camille (right) introduced us to a new, very stylish character. Emily looks pretty nice, but you can clearly see that she has just finished running. Still, her oversized pink coat is a perfect match for the roses she is holding. The outfit that catches my attention every time I look at it, is the one on Camille. Very Parisienne, elegant but not monotonous. The Parisian added a pop of colour to the navy blue outfit with red boots and a brown handbag. Camille is the embodiment of Parisian style. Elegant but not boring, simple but not plain.

6 – Our American girl got the chance to put on a dress made by the famous designer, Pierre Cadault. Of course, like most events in the series, the evening wasn’t exactly a dream, but for a while we could admire the work of art on Emily Cooper. The dress embodies many objects; to me, it looks like a swan that slowly spreads its wings, but I also see associations with clouds or wind.

5 – What is amazing about this outfit are the details. Its reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic tulle skirt. The beautiful, funny handbag breaks the elegant dress with its quirkiness. The black gown itself has a long tutu that echoes the famous opening scene of Sex and the City where Carrie walks through the streets of New York in her famous short tutu. It’s really nice to see Darren Starr haven’t forgotten “his first girlfriend.”

4 – Another outfit that reflects the Parisian style. What is beautiful about it, is the simplicity of the makeup. Camille wears only red lipstick, no eyeshadow or other fussy additions. As you know, Parisians love to wear bright red on their lips, but without eye painting or applying foundation to keep it simplistic. A simple ponytail also adds elegance here. What caught my attention were the shoes. Original, comfortable and sexy. The colours of Camille’s outfit are white, navy blue and red, as are the colours of France’s Flag.

3 – Excited after eating her first pain au chocolat, Emily heads to work to take on her first challenges. She does it in a beautiful yellow dress combined with a black belt and proves once again that unusual color combinations work well. The dress is airy and girlish with original patterns. A small yellow handbag and black high-heeled sandals add to the charm of the main character.

2 – Our, lovely, blonde Parisian chose a slightly sexier look this time. Camille is wearing a wonderful dress made of combined materials. Beige plaid works great with polka dot organza sleeves. The dress makes Camille look feminine and cute. A stunning detail was adding a mini black leather handbag that adds some strength to the delicate outfit.

1 –Everything in this photo is perfect. From the headband to makeup and dresses to shoes. Emily looks like Audrey Hepburn’s twin which was probably the plan. The delicate headband hitting the forehead is original and beautiful, with subtle makeup matching the rest of the outfit. The dress is elegant, with an interesting pattern and a Spanish inspired neckline. Emily could have time travelled to the 1920s in the look, which also shows that her American style can also be tasteful and elegant.

I recommend everyone to watch the series because there are many more incredible looks in it that I haven’t included. Beyond fashion, Emily in Paris offers a glimpse of Paris through American eyes and a story of friendship and love, all sprinkled with red wine and a dose of sarcastic Parisian humour.
