Ollie Hayes blows audience away at his One Night Only gig at Rough Trade

Ollie Hayes is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Mansfield who has just released his Christmas EP ‘Christmassy’ which is full of Christmas cheer.

He hosted a one night only gig at Rough Trade in Nottingham in celebration of the EP being released after the positive response from fans.

He was supported by Chasing Deers and Maye who both did a short but sweet set which hyped the audience up ready for the big man himself, Ollie Hayes.

The venue was the perfect setting for this iconic performance, it was friendly and welcoming which fitted Ollie as a performer incredibly well as he beamed with happiness as soon as he stepped on stage.

Ollie performed a variety of songs from his ‘Christmassy’ EP and his two albums, The Dream and Mad Love.

The vibe of the gig was celebratory, everyone at Rough Trade had the biggest smile on their faces all because Ollie’s music brings so many people so much joy.

He performed songs such as ‘Here Comes Christmas’ and ‘Online’ as well as a cover of the song ‘Waving Through a Window’ from the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen which is one of the things which heavily inspires Ollie’s music.

The tickets for the gig were £5.99, allowing you to see all three acts and be part of an amazing crowd and experience.

Ollie had admitted on Facebook and Instagram that he had cancelled the One Night Only gig multiple times before due to nerves, but you could see as soon as he got on the stage Ollie was made to perform and will go very far with this incredible career.

Everyone in the crowd was incredibly engaged with Ollie’s singing and it felt like a party in the side room at Rough Trade on a very cold night in December, for me, it was the perfect end to a very busy term at university.

Ollie is one of the nicest people who I have ever met or had the pleasure to watch live as he is genuinely so grateful to everyone who listens to his music or comes to see him live and I can’t wait to see what this incredible performer does in the future.

Thank you Ollie for inviting me to your concert – it was a pleasure to be there and support you and your music!
