Pale Waves ‘New Year’s Eve’ – Single Review

Manchester band, Pale Waves have dropped their bittersweet, 80’s sounding single.

The band has announced their third single “New Year’s Eve” as well as details of a UK and European headline tour for 2018.

The track captures the crux of indie-pop with a catchy chorus that you can’t stop yourself from singing-a-long too: “I don’t wanna be alone on New Year’s Eve/ Do you even wanna be with me?”

With a heavy The 1975 sound, with glistening 80s synth, it almost sounds quite festive, getting you in the new year spirit.

Although their previous songs such as “Television Romance” and “There’s A Honey” sound dreamy, with soft vocals from frontwoman Heather, they have a dark element to them that juxtaposes their sound (“You found me outside looking like somebody died”), which makes them different from so many upcoming bands.
