Syrian Refugee Who Lived in Airport For Seven Months Given Home In Canada

A Syrian refugee who has spent the last seven months living in Kuala Lumpur International Airport has finally found a home after being sponsored by a Canadian woman.

37-year-old Hassan Al Kontar was stranded in the airport after a series of Visa and work permit expirations meant that leaving the airport would result in his deportation back to Syria.

But now Laurie Cooper, a woman from British Columbia, has succeeded in raising $20,000 for his sponsorship and finding him a job at her local hotel.

She was even waiting at the airport to give him a hug and welcome him to Canada.

Anonymous ‘Santa’ Pays For Dozens Of Walmart Customers

The magic of Christmas was truly at work in Vermont last week.

An anonymous man wearing a New England Patriots jacket walked into a Walmart store in Vermont and paid for all the items that were on layaway, including thousands of dollars of Christmas gifts.

When a customer asked who could afford to pay for so much, the man replied ‘Santa Claus can’.

The family of a child with congenital heart disease and respiratory problems have been gifted a free home makeover by a group of kind builders.

The family were sent to Center Parcs for nine days while ‘Band of Builders’ completed a £50,000 home renovation to bring some happiness to the family.

Band of Builders is now completing another home makeover to help a two-year-old girl with an incurable skin condition.
