Nottingham Trent Student receives two Midlands Media Student Awards

Nottingham Trent University Student Shing Hei Yip, 21,  has achieved double success at the Midlands Media Student Awards on 8 November.

He took home the Social Media Video of the Year Award as well as the Photography Award.

His outstanding portfolio titled “A Year in Nottingham” gained him the Photography Award, whilst he was crowned winner for the Social Media Video Award for an entry about Chinese consulate protests in the city.

These achievements follow onto his previous successes, namely being named Best Student Photographer in the Student Publication Association National Awards as well as being commended in the Nikon Student Photographer of the Year category at the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards earlier this year.
