Nottingham City of Literature and Five Leaves Bookshop launch new virtual events

Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature and one of Nottingham’s leading independent bookshops, Five Leaves, have joined forces to present a series of virtual events.

The series of events, entitled ‘Building a Better World With Words’, will take place in June and July, in a series of talks and conversations with award-winning authors.

The eight-part series will begin on Thursday June 25 with Tayari Jones (‘An American Marriage‘) and Ann Patchett (‘The Dutch House‘).

In this special virtual event, the authors will read sections of their novels and discuss the #ReadingWomen celebration, 25 years after the launch of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

The series of events will then continue on July 2 with Emilie Pine (‘Notes to Self: Essays‘) and Christine Dwyer-Hickey (‘The Cold Eye of Heaven‘).

All events are free to attend and interpreted live with British Sign Language.

You can register to attend here.
