Nottingham’s Christmas markets to return for the festive period

Ahead of the festive period, Nottingham’s Christmas markets have announced their return for the winter of 2022.

With several stalls set to begin trade in November, Nottingham will experience the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas.

In anticipation for these events, here are some of the Christmas markets that will return to the area this year:

Christmas Market, Old Market Square

In the heart of Nottingham City Centre, Old Market Square is set to see the return of its iconic Christmas Market.

With plans to begin on Tuesday, November 15 the markets will run until December 31.

This year shall see the return of Christmas lights, chalet style stalls and speciality food across the square and along Long Row and Smithy Row.

Previous years have been host to an observation ferris wheel, a traditional helter skelter, an Après Ski pop-up bar and a 60ft Christmas tree.

The Garage, Chilwell

Just outside of the city centre, The Garage in Chilwell hosts a range of events including bespoke artisan markets.

The Garage will host Christmas Markets exhibiting a selection of local traders each Sunday from November 20 until December 18, at 10am – 2pm. These events will see over 40 local makers and producers vending a selection of Christmas themed items.

Patchings Christmas Market, Calverton

Located in Calverton, Nottinghamshire, Patchings’ annual Christmas market is due to return for the festive period.

This Christmas market takes place from Friday, November 25 to November 27 at 10am – 4pm.

Hosted at Patchings Art Centre, stalls included at this market will offer a wide variety of hand crafted products including jewellery, ceramics, textiles and fine art.

Mapperley Makers Christmas and Vintage Market, Mapperley

Just outside of Nottingham City Centre, Mapperley Makers are hosting a festive market on Saturday, November 5 from 11am – 4pm at St. Jude’s Church.

With over 40 stalls of Nottingham based craft and vintage items, the Mapperley Makers Christmas Market is set to supply unique and handmade local goods.

Belvoir Castle’s Engine Yard, Grantham

Located on the outskirts of Nottinghamshire, Belvoir Castle’s Engine Yard is set to host a Scandinavian style Christmas Market throughout the festive period.

Beginning on November 18, the Christmas Markets are taking place over five consecutive weekends.

This event plans to showcase an abundance of festive delights, crafted and curated by local and independent brands.

With these Christmas markets opening throughout November, Nottingham will begin to transform into a winter wonderland to welcome the festive period.

These events will showcase some of Nottingham’s local artistry across the city and could be the perfect place to pick up a unique, handcrafted Christmas gift.
