Top spooky songs to get you in the Halloween spirit

We’re now in October and you know what that means. No, I’m not talking about the possibility of Britain leaving the EU in the ongoing fiasco that is Brexit, but the spookiest season of them all, Halloween! The time of the year where your creative minds can run wild and dress up as a character from a film or TV series, a real-life figure or perhaps just throw on a few cat ears and call it a night.

However, Halloween isn’t just about the dressing up or taking sweets from complete strangers, the music has now become just as important. This is why we have selected the spookiest tracks which and curated the perfect list for this years Halloween, so you can all jam to the spooky season.

Eminem & Rihanna – Monster

Being a student at university during Halloween means there are plenty of opportunities to dress up and party, meaning this song is perfect to jam to whilst you get ready for your scary night out. Not only is this song perfect to dance to, but it gets everyone in the Halloween mood with the monsters coming after them! If you’re a keen rapper, then why not have a go at keeping up with Eminem’s hauntingly fast pace?

Michael Jackson – Thriller

To put it simply, Halloween wouldn’t be the same without the 1982 classic that is ‘Thriller’. If you’re a dancer, then be sure to bust out the choreography on your Halloween night out.

Ray Parker Jr – Ghostbusters

For all you movie lovers out there, this classic will be familiar to you from the 80’s iconic film ‘Ghostbusters’. Just like Thriller, this song is still as famous now as it was back when it first came out making it the perfect song for Halloween, as again, it’s one you can dance to as well as scream out every single word.

Ava Max – Sweet But Psycho

A more modern song for the spooky season comes from American singer Ava Max. This tune fits well into the scarier side of Halloween as it can be the season that reveals the sweeter of those amongst us letting out their true selves by dressing up as something much scarier than what they actually are.

Imagine Dragons – Demons

We’re slowing it down with this selection, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less suitable. Listening to the lyrics, they’re dark and fit into the theme of Halloween with talk of ‘releasing the beast’.

Rihanna – Disturbia

As you may have noticed, this is the second Rihanna song on the list but Halloween simply wouldn’t be the same without this iconic tune.

David Guetta & Sia – She Wolf

Just like all David Guetta songs, the build-up of the beat is the best to play in any nightclub as it gets everyone going and dancing to their own heart’s content. The clear link to Halloween is the mentioning of the wolf, so if this song is playing in the club or at a Halloween party, just watch out for midnight and make sure no girls turn into wolves and come for you.
