Sussex will aim to press on from an overnight score of 376-7 as they resume against Derbyshire on Day 2 of their County Championship Division Two contest.
Four Sussex batsmen struck half-centuries on the first day as below-par Derbyshire bowling and wasteful fielding allowed Tom Clark (96), Tom Haines (86), Oli Carter (56) and Fynn Hudson-Prentice (52 not out) to convert.
Hudson-Prentice will try to steer the hosts beyond 400 this morning as Ari Karvelas (nine not out), Jack Carson and Henry Shipley join him as the remaining batsmen, while Derbyshire will be looking for three quick wickets to begin their first innings.
