Single Review: Little Mix – ‘Woman Like Me’

A powerful and strong statement about girl power is what we have come to expect from the UK’s biggest girl band, but Little Mix have well and truly come back fighting with the lead single ‘Woman Like Me’ from their upcoming album.

Following the huge success of their previous album Glory Days, which has been certified 3x platinum in the UK, Little Mix have launched their new era with their latest single ‘Woman Like Me’. Kick starting the release of the single with the Woman Like Me online mosaic, encouraging fans to post pictures of themselves and the women around them that inspire them, it was clear that the girl group were going above and beyond to promote their girl power message that resonates with their fans.

The single, along with its lyric video, promotes a strong idea of girls and women standing up for themselves and promoting their own confidence, written by UK chart toppers Jess Glynne and Ed Sheeran, containing lyrics like ‘I made a few mistakes, I regret it nightly’ and ‘I always say what I’m feeling, I was born without a zip on my mouth’.

Little Mix have also expanded their vocal ranges with this latest song, exploring the deeper notes, against the high tempo reggae-pop backing beat, serving as a sexy and energetic chart topper.

Additionally, Nicki Minaj also has a feature on the song, who band member Jesy Nelson once described as her dream collaboration.

‘Woman Like Me’ serves as the lead single off Little Mix’s newly announced album, LM5, due for release on the 16th November this year
