Nottinghamshire set 411 to win after painful afternoon – County Championship Day 2 Recap

Nottinghamshire will be aiming to take charge of their County Championship contest with visitors Hampshire as they resume their first innings on 87-5 on Day 2.

Tom Moores (24 not out) and Brett Hutton (one not out) are the batsmen at the crease as the East Midlands outfit look to surpass the 166 achieved by Hampshire in their first innings.

A commanding knock from one of those two, or all-rounders Lyndon James and Calvin Harrison, would be a lifesaver for Nottinghamshire.

Without such an innings, Notts look likely to miss out on any batting bonus points – awarded for passing 250 runs and beyond – for the fifth time this season.

Hampshire, meanwhile, will be throwing their all – including star seamers Mohammad Abbas and Kyle Abbott – at dismissing their hosts cheaply.
