Top five European party holiday destinations

Party holidays are often a popular choice of getaway for students every summer. There is literally nothing better than jetting off with your pals for a week of sun, sand and of course, alcohol. However, with the current unfortunate circumstances regarding the coronavirus, it seems unlikely that any of these trips will be going ahead this year. Instead, we must accept the situation and start planning for summer 2021. If you’re in need of some inspiration, here’s our list of five of the most popular party destinations for students in Europe (in no particular order, of course).

Ibiza

At the top of the list is Ibiza, one of the most popular party holidays out there. Situated in the Spanish Balearic islands, Ibiza has lots to offer, including some of the biggest clubs in Europe. The island has three main resorts: Playa d’en Bossa, San Antonio, which is probably the most popular among party-goers, and Ibiza town. Ibiza is typically seen to be one of the more expensive party destinations, however, as with all holidays, there are definitely some bargains to be found.

Magaluf

Despite not having as positive of a reputation as its upmarket neighbour Ibiza, Magaluf still sees students come back to its sandy shores year after year. Maybe it’s the infamous Magaluf strip that entices visitors, or the fact that it’s only a short plane ride away, thereby increasing the time you can spend partying. Either way, Magaluf remains just as popular as its competitors and is certainly one of the best party destinations in Europe.

Zante

The Laganas resort in Zante has the best of both worlds: incredible nightlife and an unbelievable location. If you’re a fan of boat parties, then Zante might be a holiday to consider. Situated on the island of Zakynthos in Greece, this resort is famous for its pool parties and events, beautiful beaches (the Navagio beach has recently been voted as the best beach on the planet!) and its very popular strip packed full of restaurants and bars.

Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa has a long-standing reputation as being one of the best party destinations in the Mediterranean, and it’s not hard to see why. Napa is perfectly placed on Greece’s East coast meaning that, like most of the other destinations on this list, it’s perfect for relaxing on the beach or by the pool in the day and then for partying at night. Clubs in this large resort focus around Napa Square where you can find music of all genres to have a boogie to.

Malia

Made famous in The Inbetweeners Movie (although apparently parts of the film were actually filmed in Magaluf), Malia is last but by no means least on this list. If you’re looking for beach parties, UV raves, booze cruises and to generally just have a good time, Malia is probably the right option for you. Its location on the coast of Crete, Greece, means that this resort is perfect if you fancy something a little more exotic and further away from home, but you still want a great party experience.
