What to expect from Arctic Monkeys – “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino”

Sheffield indie-rockers, Arctic Monkeys, have announced the eagerly awaited details of their sixth album.

Arctic Monkey’s front man Alex Turner said: “Seems like the perfect place to leave things for a while,” after the quartet’s headlining slot at Leeds Festival in 2014, but it has not stopped the anticipation around the band’s sixth collection.

After five years, the band have kept their fans guessing by drip-feeding information with what’s to come next.

We’re all now impatiently waiting for the follow up of “AM” to drop on May, 11.

The new album, ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ will be the band’s sixth studio album and has been recorded in Los Angeles, Paris and London.

It could find the band continuing to explore new musical terrain and showcase a reflection of Turner’s comprehensive vision.

Album artwork, the track list, a revamped website and a brand-new logo have been released to accompany the album.

“Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino” could feature some very special guests such as Tame Impala’s bassist Cam Avery, Last Shadow Puppets’ Miles Kane and Queens of the Stone Age musician, Josh Homme.

Frontman, Alex Turner, revealed the album will feature lots of piano after he was gifted a Steinway Vertegrand for his 30th birthday. Turner is quoted saying “It’s got more chords. And space sh*t.”

The band’s style has developed over the years, from a snappy yap into a smooth croon.

A sleek teaser trailer was recently released featuring a guitar-riff and creating retro and futuristic vibes which could be a taster for what fans should expect from their new tracks.

The track list features wacky and peculiar names such as “The Ultracheese”, “The World’s First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip” and “Batphone”.

A UK arena tour has been announced and the four-piece will hit the road this summer kicking off on May, 6 and finishing up on September, 27.
