Theatre Royal announces new date for Mamma Mia musical

The sold-out performances of Mamma Mia at Royal Concert Hall have been rescheduled.

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus’ popular musical was due to run from March 24 to April 4 but was forced to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The series of performances have now been scheduled to run from 12 April 2022 to 23 April 2022.

A spokesperson for the Royal Concert Hall said: “We appreciate that these new dates are two years away.

“We have been working with the show’s promoter to find time in both our diaries to bring MAMMA MIA! Back to Nottingham, and we hope we will see you there!

“If you can make your new date, you don’t need to take any further action.

“Your original tickets will remain valid and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our venue.”

With the The Royal Concert Hall now scheduled for two years time, the venue are making plans for how people can claim refunds if they are unable to make the new date.

They said: “At present, due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, we are unable to operate an on-site box office.

“This means that you won’t be able to contact us, and we won’t be able to action your gift voucher or refund, until it is safe for our call centre colleagues to return to work.

“We are closely following the government’s advice, and we will re-open our call centre as soon as we are able to do so.

“Please be assured that your booking will remain securely on our system until then.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, particularly in the present circumstances.

We will announce when our box office call centre is open again.”
