The best places to celebrate Halloween 2019

Halloween – one of the best excuses for a night out of the year. Whether you and your pals are up for getting costumes on and having an intoxicated boogie or you would rather join in on the spooky season spirit alcohol-free, Nottingham has some amazing events on offer. Here are some of our best picks:

Detonate Halloween festival

At the top of the list is one of the most anticipated events of this autumn. Following their successful summer festival, Detonate has enlisted headliners in the likes of Chase & Status, Sub Focus & Jay1 to perform in a secret location on Saturday 26th. Final release tickets can be purchased for £47.60 from the Detonate website.

Tuned day of the dead Halloween all-nighter

It would be wrong not to include the legendary Rock City somewhere on this list. Open from 9 pm-6 am, this “spooktacular screamfest of epic proportions” is a hard-core partygoers dream. However, tickets are now fully sold out on Fatsoma so keep your eyes out for people re-selling theirs.

Shapes Halloween festival

If you’re looking for something to do on Halloween night, Shapes has the answer. With lots of Shapes events being held at venues across the city, including the rooftop Bar Alto, the Waterfront and a basement party at Box, you won’t be short of options. Tickets can be purchased from £5 from Fatsoma

Halloween ghost walks

Here’s something a little bit different but still fun to do during Halloween week (if you don’t get scared easily!). The Original Nottingham Ghost Walk company have organised four special tours from the 26th of October to the 2nd of November, starting from the infamous pub Ye Old Trip To Jerusalem. The walks are ½ a mile long and tickets can be purchased from £6.98 from eventbrite.co.uk.

Stealth Halloween festival

On Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th, Stealth is holding its 15th annual Halloween festival in the fantastic setting of Wollaton Hall. The all-day event will feature acts such as Michael Bibi and Danny Howard, alongside a selection of tasty street-food vendors and pop-up bars.

NG-ONE Zombie lock-in

Strapped for cash but still want a good night out this Halloween? NG-ONE has got you. With entry from £3 and shots from £1 on Halloween night, you can party the night away without breaking the bank at this lock-in. The club is even giving away free shots to those who come dressed like zombies, so get your costumes ready!
